Economists, academicians, social workers and progressive intellectuals formed the Pak Rural Development Program (PRDP) in December 2005 right after Oct 2005 devastating earthquake in the country, and was registered in 2008 under Societies ACT XXI – 1860 with industry Commerce & Labour Govt. of Pakistan. The Pak Rural Development Program is also registered with other government departments and eligible to work throughout the country including AJK-State and Gilgit Baltistan. These authorities are Economic Affairs Division (EAD) under vide letter no. 2(2019) NGO/EAD/2018. The Ministry of States & Frontier Regions the commissionerate of Afghan Refugees (CAR), allow to work status vide letter no. F 1(5)-RW/2020. At the national level it has strong community linkages through CBOs network at each respective district, government line departments, other stakeholders. The Pak Rural Development program (PRDP) has membership/linkages with the Human Resource Development Network (HRDN), Network for Electoral Participation (NEP), Education cluster, Health cluster, WASH cluster at each provincial level. The Pak Rural Development Program (PRDP) has also membership with Pakistan NGOs forum and Internationally recognized with NGO networks in Asia and Europe.
The Pak Rural Development Program (PRDP) has extensive experience in several sectors with various international donors and UN agencies - UNICEF, UNOCHA, UNDP, USAID, Govt. of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Save the Children, Embassy of Netherland, Embassy of Japan, ICMC, International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF), Qatar Charity, FAO, Trocaire-Ireland, Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) and LDA in different areas likewise in Education, WASH, DRR, Emergency Preparedness & Relief Operations, Shelter, NFIs, Community Restoration and Protection, Rule of Law, Strengthened Referral Mechanism, psychosocial Support, Vocational Skills Trainings, Disabled (special persons), Elderly persons support, Livelihood Interventions, Off-farm & On-farm Agriculture and Livestock and strong community mobilization capacity with outreach activities. PRDP has strong and close liaison with government line departments i.e. Education department, Agriculture & Livestock departments, Soil conservation department, Irrigation department, Govt. Vocational skill institutes, District and political administrations, PDMA, FDMA, TDP secretariat and Pak Army having proper NOCs for each particular projects of the concern authorities.
